Sadly, we are canceling the 2020 Virginia Highland Tour of Homes this year. We will miss seeing friendly faces, the beautiful homes, and the wonderful food. We encourage everyone to visit the businesses that have supported the tour. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2021. More information about the 2021 tour will follow.

Homes will be open for the tour on Saturday, Dec 7th and Sunday, Dec 8th from from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Food tastings occur in the homes on both days from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Advance Tickets

Discounted tickets are available in advance until 5:00 pm on Friday, Dec 6. Purchase a ticket to tour the eight homes and history pop-up exhibit for $30 and enjoy the food tastings provided at each home at no extra charge. Children under 10 are free.

Combination tickets that include a docent led history tour plus the home tour can only be purchased in advance through Friday, Dec 6 for $35. Children must have a ticket to attend the history tour. We cannot accommodate car seats of any kind on the shuttles used for the history tour.

If you purchase a combination ticket for the history tour plus home tour, you must attend the history tour on the day specified on your ticket. All home tour tickets are valid for either day of the tour. Please visit our Facebook page for more information and a chance to win free tickets or a gift certificate to a local business.

Print your ticket or use your smartphone to show your pre-purchased electronic ticket at the Tour’s headquarters, located at the YWCA (957 N Highland Ave), to pick up your tour booklet. The booklet is required for entry to the homes. You may pick up tour booklets on Saturday, Dec 7th (8:30 am – 4:00 pm), and Sunday, Dec 8th (8:30 am – 2:30 pm).

All history tours depart from the YWCA.  Please arrive 15 min early to check-in and board the history tour shuttles–they will depart promptly at 9:00 am. History tour tickets are purchased specifically for the Saturday OR Sunday tour.  Those purchasing combo tickets to both the history tour and home tour may tour each home once during tour hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Purchase Tickets Weekend of the Tour

Tickets to tour the eight homes and the history pop-up exhibit may be purchased for $35 the weekend of the tour at the YWCA (957 N Highland Ave). Each ticket includes being able to enjoy the food tastings offered at each home on the tour. You may purchase tickets Saturday, Dec 7th (8:30 am – 4:00 pm), and Sunday, Dec 8th (8:30 am – 2:30 pm). All home tour tickets are valid for either day of the Tour.

Parking and Shuttle Information

Ample parking is available on side streets throughout the neighborhood. Free parking is also available at the YWCA and around the neighborhood on a first-come, first-served basis. Enjoy a leisurely stroll while you view the homes on tour this year–especially for those homes in close proximity to each other. Hop on a shuttle as an alternative way to visit the homes. The shuttle service starts at 10:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the YWCA and stops near each home on the tour. The last shuttle pick-up is at 4:30 p.m.


Portable restrooms will be available near the YWCA parking lot, located at 957 N. Highland Ave.

Restaurants serving food during the tour make no representations or warranties regarding allergens or other ingredients that may cause illness in people with food allergies or food sensitivities. Participants in the Tour of Homes agree to waive and release the Virginia-Highland Civic Association, its members, the homeowners and businesses associated with the Tour of Homes, including restaurants that serve food during the tour, from any and all manner of claims, damages, or injuries associated with the tour or incurred while participating in the tour.
